About Pipeline Signals

Pipeline Signals provides sales teams with timely, relevant intelligence on sales opportunities and risks in their total addressable market. Pipeline Signals supports our customers by researching ‘signals’ on behalf of our clients, and delivering signal intelligence in sales workflows that allow their sales team to execute against this intelligence. Pipeline Signals further enables each customers’ sales teams with skill-based training. Our managed services enable our clients to spend more time closing deals and less time researching (“Services”). This web-site is intended to provide information to our clients, and potential clients. Our Services are not intended to be sold to individual consumers and we expect that users of our website will be acting in their capacity as employees or contractors of the business they represent who desire further information about Pipeline Signals and its products and services for business purposes.

Personal Data

Pipeline Signals collects certain personal information about our clients and visitors to our websites, limited to the kind of information that can be found on a business card (“Personal Data”). We use this information to provide clients with Services, and website visitors with information. We do not sell Personal Data to anyone and only share it with third parties who are facilitating the delivery of Services to clients.

How do we collect Personal Data?

Pipeline Signals collects Personal Data when you register with Pipeline Signals for a subscription for Services, when you ask to be included in an email or other mailing list, or you submit an entry for promotions, or when you submit your contact information to Pipeline Signals for any other reason. From time to time, Pipeline Signals may receive publicly available Personal Data from business partners and vendors or contact information from vendors of lists or other third parties.

Pipeline Signals may supplement the Personal Data that you provide to us via the website or we receive from third parties with public information available on the internet from your employer’s website, from business networking websites like LinkedIn and from information gathered by communicating with you by telephone, email or in person.

When you access our website Pipeline Signals tracks your IP address. We may also associate information with your IP address including geographical, corporate, network information and the identity of individuals who have accessed our website from the same or similar IP addresses in the past provided they have provided this information to us as outlined above. Pipeline Signals may also store information on how you found our website. Pipeline Signals gathers certain information about you based upon the pages that you access in our website. This information may include the URL of the website that you just came from, which URL you next go to and what browser you are using (internet protocol information or “ IP Information”).

What Personal Data do we collect from individuals?

Pipeline Signals uses a third-party CRM application to securely store Personal Data about website users, comprising business contact information including your name, title, business address, business email and business telephone number (“Personal Contact Information”). We may also collect publicly available information like biographical information from your employer’s website or information from your profile on business networking sites like LinkedIn. Pipeline Signals uses the relationship hierarchy feature of its CRM software to maintain information about your professional relationships such as your employer or previous employer, your administrative assistant, your boss or relationships to other organizations that you may have such as participation in industry groups. If you have a publicly available photograph or you provide us with a photograph Pipeline Signals may store a photograph with your Personal Contact Information. Pipeline Signals may also store additional Personal Data like interests with your Personal Contact Information.

Pipeline Signals collects IP information related to your use of our website including how you found the web-site, what pages you view and how long you spend on the web-site.

How do we use your Personal Contact Information?

The primary use of your Personal Contact Information and IP Information is to maintain strong business relationships with our clients, partners and potential clients and partners.

Pipeline Signals also uses Personal Contact Information and IP Information to verify compliance with subscriptions, enforce applicable subscription terms and conditions, ensure the security of our web-site and systems and detect inappropriate or illegal conduct.
Pipeline Signals uses individual and aggregated non-identifiable Personal Data to provide better customer service and improve its marketing. With whom do we share your Personal Contact Information?

Your Personal Contact Information will only ever be shared with Pipeline Signals employees, contractors and/or third-party service providers who need this information in order to provide Services, or to communicate with you about Services. All employees, contractors and third-party service providers agree to comply with a privacy policy and other rules and/or agreements necessary to comply with applicable law.

Your Personal Contact Information is never shared outside Pipeline Signals without your permission, except under conditions explained below.

Pipeline Signals may send your Personal Contact Information to other companies or people under any of the following circumstances: third party service providers who work with us to provide the Services; we have your consent to share the information; or we want to keep you up to date on the latest product announcements, software updates, special offers or other information we think you’d like to hear about either from us or from our business partners (unless you have opted out of these types of communications). We will also disclose your Personal Contact Information if required to do so by law, to enforce our contractual agreements, or in urgent circumstances, to protect personal safety, the public or our websites.

How do we use cookies?

This website uses cookies. A cookie is a small data text file, which a web-site stores on your computer’s hard drive (if your Web browser permits) that can later be retrieved to identify you to us. Cookies were designed to help a web-site recognize a user’s browser as a previous visitor and thus save and remember any preferences that may have been set while the user was browsing the site. Social Media

If you are using Pipeline Signals’ social media, please remember that Pipeline Signals’ social media are provided via social media sites, which have their own functionality, terms and privacy policies. You should be aware that these functions are part of the social media site and are subject to the social media site’s terms and privacy policy and not those of Pipeline Signals. Please ensure you have read these carefully and have checked your personal settings to ensure you are content with how your information will be used by the social media site. Pipeline Signals’ social media may make use of these functions, but Pipeline Signals does not control them and is not responsible for them. Pipeline Signals will not assume responsibility for data shared or the responsibility of any social media site’s data controller, that responsibility will remain with the social media provider.

Retention Policy

Pipeline Signals will process Personal Data during the duration of any contract and will continue to store only the Personal Data needed for three years after the contract has expired, to meet any legal obligations. After three years, any Personal Data not needed will be deleted.

Data Storage

Data is stored in Canada using both cloud and server-based technology using the services of a third-party CRM provider. All data is fully encrypted in transit and at rest.

Your rights as a Data Subject

At any point while Pipeline Signals is in possession of or processing your Personal Data, all Data Subjects have the following rights:

  • Right of access – you have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you.
  • Right of rectification – you have a right to correct data that we hold about you that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Right to be forgotten – in certain circumstances you can ask for the data we hold about you to be erased from our records.
  • Right to restriction of processing – where certain conditions apply you have a right to restrict the processing.
  • Right of portability – you have the right to have the data we hold about you transferred to another organization.
  • Right to object – you have the right to object to certain types of processing such as direct marketing.
  • Right to object to automated processing, including profiling – you also have the right not to be subject to the legal effects of automated processing or profiling.

If Pipeline Signals refuses your request under rights of access, we will provide you with a reason as to why, which you have the right to challenge legally.

Pipeline Signals, at your request, will confirm what information it holds about you and how it is processed.

You can request the following information

  • Identity and the contact details of the person or organisation that has determined how and why to process your data.
  • The purpose of the processing as well as the legal basis for processing.
  • If the processing is based on the legitimate interests of Pipeline Signals Systems Inc. or a third party such as one of its clients, information about those interests.
  • The categories of Personal Data collected, stored and processed.
  • Recipient(s) or categories of recipients to whom the data are/will be disclosed.
  • How long the data will be stored.
  • Details of your rights to correct, erase, restrict or object to such processing.
  • Information about your right to withdraw consent at any time.
  • How to lodge a complaint with the Ontario Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner (Data Protection Regulator).
  • Whether the provision of Personal Data is a statutory or contractual requirement, or a requirement necessary to enter into a contract, as well as whether you are obliged to provide the Personal Data and the possible consequences of failing to provide such data.
  • The source of Personal Data if it wasn’t collected directly from you.
  • Any details and information of automated decision making, such as profiling, and any meaningful information about the logic involved, as well as the significance and expected consequences of such processing.

To access Personal Data held, identification will be required

Pipeline Signals will accept the following forms of identification when information on your Personal Data is requested. A copy of your driver’s license, passport, birth certificate and utility bill, bank statement, or credit card statement not older than three months. A minimum of one piece of photographic identification listed above and a supporting document is required. If Pipeline Signals is dissatisfied with the quality, further information may be sought before Personal Data can be released.

Complaints

If you wish to make a complaint about how your Personal Data is being processed by Pipeline Signals, you have the right to complain. If you do not get a response within 30 days, you can complain to the Ontario Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner.
